Dětský pěvecký sbor MIBIDIZO @ 13. ročník soutěžního festivalu ve městě Bad Ischl
In cooperation with the Czech Centre in Vienna we inform about the participation of the children's choir MIBIDIZO at the international competition festival in Bad Ischl, Austria (30 April - 4 May 2016)
In recent years, the children's choir MIBIDIZO from Valašské Meziříčí has enjoyed many awards not only at Czech shows, but also successfully represents Czech choral singing at festivals abroad. So far, the last trip was participation in the Montreux Choral Festival in Switzerland. It is not surprising that the choir was invited to the showcase of the best Czech children's choirs called PORTA MUSICAE 2014.
The Porta Musicae 2014 festival is held annually in Nový Jičín. Don't let the proximity of the town fool you - it is a prestigious national show and the 10th anniversary edition is held under the auspices of the Minister of Culture Daniel Herman.
Invitation to participate in the showcase was received by choirmasters of only those children's choirs from all over the Czech Republic that demonstrate a high artistic level and take first place at this competition. The selection of the choirs was made by the expert council for children's choral singing of the National Information and Advisory Centre for Culture NIPOS - ARTAMA Prague.
Festival Porta Musicae 2014 will take place in Beskydy Theatre in Nový Jičín on 7 - 9 November 2014 and this time it will be a non-competitive show. In addition to the MIBIDIZO choir from Meziříč, the audience can look forward to performances by the Prague Cantilena, the Liberec Severacek choir, the Radost Praha choir, the Carmina choir from Rychnov, the local Ondrášek choir and many others. "Participation in this festival is a great inspiration for us", said Eva Ježíková, MIBIDIZO choirmaster. "We get to hear our top choirs over the course of one weekend and can see where the choirs are developing, compare their repertoire and meet fellow choirmasters. We also cordially invite all lovers of choral singing, it will certainly be a great experience for them as well," she adds. (sš) On Saturday, 5 November, Nový Jičín was the venue of the IXth year of the Porta Musicae 2012 national competition of children's choirs. 16 choirs from all over the Czech Republic - Litomyšl, Ostrava, Holešov, Nový Jičín, Svitavy, Náchod, Znojmo, Třebíč, Valašské Meziříčí and other places - performed in two age categories. From folk songs to religious chants to American spirituals, from the Baroque composer Henry Purcell to Peter Eben to contemporary Czech composers - all this was heard during the competition afternoon performed by singing children.
In the choir competition, the singing performance is judged on how clearly the children sing and whether they sing with or without instrumental accompaniment. The judges look at the song selection, the overall drama of the performance and how the children look as a unit on stage. "The children had an excellent day and performed exceptionally well," said Eva Ježíková, choir director and conductor of the MIBIDIZO choir.
"I was very pleased with their performance. I was even more pleased that the jury had the same opinion and awarded us the title of Absolute Winner. A lot of credit for our success goes to pianist Adéla Zahradníčková, who won the award for her excellent piano accompaniment, and clarinetist Jaromír Kužela," added the choirmaster.
The MIBIDIZO Children's Choir focuses its repertoire on the works of contemporary Czech composers for children. "I like the work of contemporary authors because their texts speak the language of today's children, children understand them and also because they like to sing them. In addition, when we manage to go to an international competition, we spread contemporary Czech music abroad," added choirmaster Eva Ježíková.
The MIBIDIZO Children's Choir took home the Gold Belt and the title of Absolute Winner from the Porta Musicae national competition.
