Choirs

Children’s choirs form an integral part of the tuition at the Alfréd Radok Primary Art School in Valašské Meziříčí. Choral singing has been taught at the Primary Art School since 1997. Eva Ježíková, Art Director, has been in charge all these years. About 140 children attend choir classes these days. They are divided into 4 groups according to their age.

Centipede

Is a 1 and 2 preparatory choir caters for the youngest children aged 6 to 8.

Pupils

are taught vocal techniques. Tuition focuses on intonation and rhythmic issues and the basics of music are passed onto them. Children attend choir lessons once a week.

miniDIZO

Is a preparatory concert vhoir is designed for children aged 9 to 12. Children attend lessons twice a week and their tuition is aimed at perfecting their vocal techniques. Pupils already have a sound knowledge of two and three voice songs and the curriculum follows from preceding courses of study. This choir performs at concerts and it participates in competitions all around the Czech Republic. Apt children are then selected and integrated into the MIBIDIZO Concert Choir.

MIBIDIZO

Has been performing under this name since the year 2000. Children aged 12 and older make up the Choir and they meet twice a week for choir practise. The Choir primarily performs the works of contemporary artists, focusing on polyphony. It attends schools events and social occasions run by the Town of Valašské Meziříčí. The Choir participates in competitions and shows in the Zlín Region, all around the Czech Republic and abroad as well. The children have visited several European countries, including Spain, Italy, Belgium, Montenegro, Switzerland and Austria. Thanks to its well-earned success in the world of music, the MIBIDIZO Choir is one of the Czech Republic’s leading children’s choirs.
